Landscapes, Seascapes and Cityscapes

Topophilia is a love of place; a special, affective relationship with a place but not with a place in a physical sense, with the meaning that a place has taken on because of what it has come to represent. The beaches I shared with my dog, the cliffs that represent aspiration, the sea reflecting childhood sailing memories. Place is not what it is objectively, not just a set of physical characteristics, but what it has come to embody; not a curling wave or an oncoming storm or the shape of a ridge, a personal relationship.
